Join us on iROW’s next rowing tour adventure which takes us to Sicily! It is the largest and most populous island in the Mediterranean Sea and one of the 20 regions of Italy. Over centuries it has been a melting pot of civilizations, including Greek Roman, Arab, Norman and Spanish influences, creating a cultural tapestry visible in its architecture, language, cuisine, and social customs. We will reside in the vibrant city of Palermo, the captivating capital of Sicily. Our boutique hotel is situated inside ancient Arab walls that encircled Palermo since the 9th century. Its prime location is within a few minutes away from the main pedestrian street of Palermo where you will find many restaurants, stores and historical places of interest.
Itinerary
Our sightseeing activities will include some popular spots in historic old town of Palermo, like the lively markets known for their delicious street food, the Piazza Pretoria, (also known as the “Square of Shame”), the Palermo Cathedral and more. But we will also explore some lesser known paths and discover the vibrant energy of the city with the help of local guides. We will also visit the beautiful historic town of Cefalu, known for its sands beaches, Medieval streets and enchanting views.
Then of course there is the rowing!!! We are partnering with one of the local rowing clubs in Mondello, Sicily (about 20min drive from our hotel).
Mondello is known for its beautiful and pristine coastline, and since we launch right from the beach it is so easy to take a bit of extra time after the rowing, to swim or just relax on the beach, then grab lunch at one of the number of cafes and restaurants with outdoor seating and sea views.
We will row in beautiful coastal boats along the shore of the island (quads, doubles and singles). Our rowing outings will last 1-1.5 hours, but in terms of total time commitment including transport and set up, expect about 3 hours. For the most part these will be casual rows for rowers of mixed skill levels.

This once in a life time experience is priced at $4,495 ($3,995 for iROW clients/previous tour participants).
Included in this price are
Double occupancy accommodations in a lovely boutique hotel (no twin rooms available), Single Supplement $850
5 rowing outings of 1-1.5 hrs each (boat rental and coaching included)
All breakfasts and dinners + drinks (lunches unless otherwise specified will be on your own)
Ground transportation (including airport transfers from Palermo Airport PMO)
Sightseeing tours with local guides, including tickets to places of interest.
In other words the trip is priced to include everything while in Sicily. The only thing you need to purchase is your plane ticket and travel insurance.
The max capacity is for 8 rowers, and we must have a minimum of 5 rowers signed up by May 1, 2024 in order to proceed with this trip. Rowers of all skill levels are welcome to join, as well as non-rowing companions.
To sign up, we need a $1000 non-refundable security deposit and a couple of forms signed. This reserves your spot in the tour. The remaining amount is due on June 15, 2024
